An update on the Just Giving page and a brief look back at the 2018/19 season.

As many people are aware, the players have set up a 'Just Giving' page to help Daz over the next 6 months - this is the time frame for being able to put weight on his damaged pelvis.

The 'Just Giving' page has now been closed. Thank you for your generosity.

As for the season, despite everything, we managed to finish in 6th place. From a strong start in a higher division, injuries started to take their toll. When you lose the likes of Josh Parker, Joe Maud, Ross White, Chris Peace and Gareth Singleton before Christmas, as well as the 'normal' strains and sprains, then the mountain is getting harder to climb! Things didn't really improve after Christmas with concussions, more strains and sprains, Jon Dawes' broken ankle and the injury to Daz, along with Chris Fox's decision to donate a kidney to his sister, many would think that we'd broken several mirrors as well as the broken glass landing on a number of black cats!
In total, the season saw 49 players turn out for the 1st XV! This of course had a massive knock on effect on our other senior teams. Thanks go to everyone who played in any of the York RUFC teams during the season.
On a brighter side, York RUFC Women were league champions in their first season of league rugby and our U13's won the Yorkshire Cup by beating Otley U13's 45-15.

So now it's time to rest to rest and recuperate for next season. Have a great summer and be ready for the 2019/20 season!

P.S. The Honours Cup Dinner is on Friday May 10th - make sure that you've booked your place!
