The Sandal A team were second up against York (after the win against Sandal B).
Sandal A were in preparation for an important tournament, and York were therefore happy to provide some pre-tournament warm-up for them. York as usual put out teams that gave all an opportunity to play and contribute.
This was a closely contested and physical match with Sandal playing in a fashion that almost made it appear that they had an extra man on the field. York applied considerable pressure though, and on a Sandal line-out restart 5m from their own try line, York were able to win the ball and take the lead; Oliver making the final play (0-5).
The second half was also closely contested, particularly between the forwards where Sandal's size and physicality were matched by York's determination and doggedness. There was no further score.
Final score Sandal 0-5 York.
Off back home then to nurse the bruises and reflect on two well earned wins by the lads. Terrific credit to the boys for their sportsmanship and fairness.
