The second game commenced with Pock continuing their good form, and although it was a close contest for a while, Pock scored first (5-0). York were able to level the scores on a penalty restart 10m from the Pock try-line, with Oliver touching down (5-5).
The second half saw Pari make a brilliant swerving run again, and this time he was rewarded with a try (5-10). Some better play by York now, with Steele made good ground, and flipping a high pass across to Barney who put it over (5-15). From the restart York forwards applied some great pressure; Joe took the ball close to the Pock try-line but couldn’t make it over. The ball came back and Steele recovered it, and passed to George for a well deserved York try (5-20). Steele was involved in the next try as well, making good ground into the Pock half, then passing across to Pari, who once again swerved his way through the Pock defence to score (5-25). From the restart Pock made the final score of the day (10-25).
Final score Pocklington 10-25 York.
A great morning’s play from both teams, played with good sportsmanship and spirit.
