A weekend of Rugby at Clifton Park

A weekend of Rugby at Clifton Park

Paul Simpson11 Mar - 18:34

Cavs, Women and York University all playing this weekend

The weekend of Rugby starts under the Friday night lights at York Rugby Club as the York Cavaliers take on Stanley Rodillians with a 7:30pm kick-off in what promises to be an evening of entertainment, camaraderie, and just a hint of sporting excellence. The Cavaliers may no longer move quite as quickly as they once did, but the champagne rugby still flows - just now it’s served at a slightly more leisurely pace. Expect flashes of class, clever hands, and the occasional moment where experience triumphs over enthusiasm (usually just before someone asks for a quick breather). Rugby fans or not, come down for a great atmosphere, a few laughs, and proof that while the legs may have slowed, the rugby brains most certainly haven’t.

On Saturday the day starts with the York Women where they continue their push for table topping success as they host Scarborough Valkyries in the Womens NC3 North League. Currently sitting third in the league a good win would be a great boost for them. Kick off is at 3pm.

Following this we have a York University game which kicks off at 5:30pm.

And alongside this off course it is Super Saturday in the Six Nations with England playing France at 8:10pm. Ireland play Scotland earlier at 2:10pm and Wales v Italy at 4;40pm. All of those games will be on show in the clubhouse.

So whether it is live rugby following the York teams or a bit of six nations there is plenty to see at Clifton Park.
