Whether you played one game or a hundred, whether it was last season or five decades ago, you're part of York RUFC's history. Over the years, hundreds of players have passed through this club, and it's time we brought them back into the fold.

Why we're doing this:
Rugby clubs are built on more than just the players turning out each Saturday — they're built on the friendships, memories and community that last long after the boots are hung up. The Past Players Club has been set up to:

• Reconnect former players from every generation of the club
• Bring people back together through reunions and social events
• Help support today's players, with surplus funds used to sponsor youngsters coming through the club
• Preserve and celebrate the history and traditions of York RUFC
• Support the continued growth of York RUFC, giving past players a reason to stay connected to the club — whether that's through organised events or simply keeping in touch in their own way

Who's involved
The group is being coordinated by Neil McClure, Sam Potrykus and Ross White, all working to make this simple, welcoming and genuinely worthwhile for anyone who's ever pulled on a York RUFC shirt.

Open to everyone — this is not a closed club

This is important: the Past Players Club is open to all former players, no exceptions and no invitation required. It doesn't matter what era you played in, what team you were in, or how long ago it was — if you've represented York RUFC, you're one of us and you're welcome.

What happens next
We're hosting three events across the inaugural season:
1. Launch event — Saturday 31st October, prior to York RUFC's home match against Hull RFC
2. New Year gathering — early 2027
3. Summer event — summer 2027

The launch on 31st October is the perfect place to start: come along, meet old teammates and new faces, and find out more before we kick off against Hull.

How to join
Membership costs £50 per season (or £100 including full playing membership), and includes invitations to all reunions and social events, the chance to sponsor young players coming through the club, and the satisfaction of helping preserve York RUFC's history for the next generation.
