Does seeing red decide the match?

Carter's Comments:

At Clifton Park, we entertained one of our stronger opponents - Sheffield Tigers 2nd XV.
In the first half, York occupied Tigers territory for almost 90 % of the time but we could not come away with points. Many attempts were made to cross the line only to be held up or concede the possession due to poor handling or the odd turnover. All credit must go to the Tigers with some excellent defence.

The odd break out by our opponents was thwarted by some good rear guard defence from York. Then just before half time there was a moment of madness in the match - a York player hit a Tigers player high and with a leading shoulder off the field of play. The referee adjudged this as a red card offence. The valiant 14 battled and tackled, as well as scrummaging for their lives - what a brave performance.

Both teams scored a try, the only difference was a conversion separating the two teams. Boz Borwell dotted down for York from a driven 5 m scrum in the second half.

It was impossible to mention individuals as it was a fantastic team performance on the day.
