

York were edged out 30-21 by Yorkshire One visitors Sheffield at Clifton Park.
An explosive start brought Sheffield a try after less than a minute after York fumbled the kick off. The hosts responded quickly with a try by Nic Ventress, but they were behind at half-time after another Sheffield score.
A drop goal put them further adrift after the break and Sheffield added another kick after York’s Alex Nixon had touched down for a converted try after some excellent individual play.
The home side had a kick charged down and Sheffield capitalised to score again.
Ventress broke three tackles to score a converted try but, despite late pressure, York were unable to clinch a bonus point.
