York moved into third place with a 30-8 victory over Scarborough at Clifton Park.

Daz Rutherford burst over from close range to open the scoring, and he was followed over the line by Billy Cakaunitabua, with Craig Ventress converting.

Scarborough responded with a penalty, but Arran Thompson increased York’s lead with a third try.

The visitors struck back with a well-worked try, while the half closed with Ventress kicking a penalty.

After soaking up second half pressure, York launched a raid and captain Jon Sharpe touched down for Ventress to convert.

Ventress then rounded off the scoring with a penalty.
