A DRAMATIC second-half collapse saw York RUFC beaten 27-19 at home by Keighley in Yorkshire One.
Coach Sean Bass demanded a fast start from his York side at Clifton Park, and he got it as they led 19-3 at half-time.
However, the second period was a tale of woe for York as Keighley ran in four unanswered tries to snatch an unlikely win and send York tumbling down the table to seventh.
Yorkâs dominant first half performance included two tries from outstanding full-back Alex Nixon and one from prop Will Dutton, with fly-half Mike Cawthorn kicking two conversions.
As the pack won their fair share of possession and the backs looked dangerous, only poor handling denied York a further two tries.
After the break, Keighley totally dominated in the forwards, aided by some inept York tackling and bad decision-making on the rare occasions that the hosts won any ball.
Despite a desperate rally in the last ten minutes York paid the price for their poor performance.
