York RUFC rode their luck as they snatched a last-gasp 14-11 victory at Yarnbury in Yorkshire One.
The Clifton Parkers are fourth in the table after four wins from six games – but they left it late in West Yorkshire as fly-half Paul Williams booted the crucial penalty in the last minute.
A brief high point in a poor York performance was a try for scrum-half Ben Johnson, while Williams kicked two further penalties to keep his side in the game.
Despite struggling at the lineout and scrum, York’s character and fighting spirit saw them register an unlikely victory.
